it turns out a Ficus I have also got great abundance of the plants some of which you shall have this ensuing season. The immense number of new plants that [indecipherable] in upon me from the Garrow hills, where it grows, induce me to think it by far the richest field in India for a Botanist.
Mrs Gough has been long unwell, & till within these few weeks the Major intended to try a voyage to England, but fortunately she has lately begun to recover & for the present the intention is given up. Mrs [Lumly?] is quite well, she has got a fine boy who keeps up her spirits during the absence of her husband, who is in Garrison in the Isle of France [Mauritius]
