Port Jackson 21st July 1802

Dear Sir

As an American Vessil is now about to Sail for China, and the bearer of this Captain Melius goes passanger in her and by the most direct conveyance he proceeds from thence for Europe. Should he be landed in England, it is probable he will be in London.  I have therefore taken the Liberty of Intrducing him to you.  He was Second in Command on board the Naturalist but was left here on account of his bad state of health.  He is very communitive and will be glad to give you any information you may require respecting their Descoveries.

I have this day taken leave of Captain Flinders he sails with his Consort (the Lady Nelson) to the Northward, They are all in good
