Port Jackson New South Wales

13th May 1803.

Dear Sir

      I have requested Capt. Law of the Greenwich Whaler to take on Board for you, Three Boxes,  Two with Specimens of Plants, some of which may not be in Caleys collection, and a small Box with different kinds of Wood.  The Sheabe and Piz, is a Species of Mimosa, found on the Banks of George's River, and also at the Hawkesbury.   All the other sorts are from Hunters River - in the same Box is some Seeds from the Blue Mountains and other parts.  I hope they will arrive safe, at present they are in Excellent condition, you will find among the Specimens of Plants some I got from Commodore Baudin, collected at places where he had touched at.

     In my Letter of the 12th of last November by Mr. Thompson I mentioned the unfortunate misunderstanding that happened between the Governor and myself, and the very unhandsome
