I was disappointed on Saturday as the young mans parents would not consent to let him go, but I have the pleasure to inform you that I have this morning made a final agreement with a young man a neighbour whose name is John Allen and who is an ingenious lad and understands blasting & boring and likewise the nature and construction of Engines - upon ye whole he is I am certain the very man for yr. office and as he was born and brought up at Overton you will Sir be so good as give him your best assistance.
