10th July 1798

Sir

Mr. Wisset having been out of Town the latter part of last week, I was unable to consult with him concerning the destination of those Plants addressed to the Court of Directors of the East India Company said to be on board the Ship Bellona lately arrived from India until yesterday, but I have this day obtained from him an order for the whole of the Plants to be delivered to me in order to be forwarded to Kew Gardens; and I understand it is the wish of the Chairman should there be any among them alive which are not in his Majesty's Collection that they should be presented in the name of the Court for his gracious acceptance; but that such as are addressed for the court & are duplicates, should remain under the care of Mr Aiton, until the Court should give him further
