day or two - I have known ships cruizing a Week for the Fleet, before they have fell in with them.  From considering all this, it appears to me that the Squadron should be kept together in these Roads, as by this Means they will be ready to act and kept free of accident. 

Among the late Voluntary contributions, the Officers & Men of the Director, have subscribed 475 pounds perfectly with their own will.  When the list was closed, I remarked to them, that they had done very handsomely, but requested that if after consideration any Person thought he had contributed more than he could well afford, he would lessen the sum he had given - however not a man took off any thing of his subscription.
