would not accord with all the questions put to him by our Side yet at last the Court brought him to acknowledge that Govr. Bligh was an honorable upright Man. 

Mc.Arthur only went through a part of his Evidence, but it tended to prove his great Flocks & Herds - His Wool - his being sent for by the Privy Council, & in short wishing to Show no man was good or great but himself charging me with damning the Secretary of State & various other untruths - particularly to calumniate my Charater [character].

We shall have our reply, but we have clever men against us - however I rely on the Court, that they will see their drift to expulcate themselves & consider that the Witnesses which they produce have already been the principal Persons & Promoters of the Mutiny.

I must beg your patience till all is over - Honor & truth supports me against a violent Phalanx, & I trust we shall do well.  I am only concerned for calumny all the rest is nothing to the feelings of
