"Board has resisted the applications of Captains to be superceded before the Definitive Treaty is signed, excepting under very particular circumstances. Very sincerely Your humble Servant St. Vincent, Adl. Nov. 10. 1801".  I can only say I shall continue to serve as Zealously as ever until I am paid off and be ready to serve again whenever it is required as I must hereafter command ships which will be of great consequence in the Battles our Fleets will be subject to.

Twelve sail of the Line continue here under Admiral Dickson, but I apprehend some of them will soon be ordered into Port.  I should have sailed yesterday but light contrary winds & calms detain me.  I expect however to be at Torbay in the Course of a Week.

 In my last Cruize I had a severe fit of Rheumatism & fever but I am now
