I hope you are will excuse the liberty of troubling you for the permission of your name and authority in the channel most acceptable to yourself in the getting landed under your sanction a number of Plants which my friend Mr W Jackson (one of the Commissioners sent out to Canton by the East India Company) has brought home with him in the Hindostan. There are also some onboard the Hawke Indiamen.  I have enclosed the list of the Packages I have this day received, made out for Sir Frances Baring a near relation of Mr Jacksons.  Some of them are valuable and new.  Mr Jackson is a great friend to Botanical pursuits.
