Hon. Sir

It is with much Pain that I inform Your Honor[sic] that I stand indebted to you a Sum which at present is too weighty for me to discharge notwithstanding both honour & honesty urge me to declare the truth, & had not unforeseen misfortunes overwelmed[sic] my designs & upright intentions I should most undoubtedly have discharg'd the same.

To your candour & humane feelings I humbly refer myself, & beg leave to assure Your Honor that shou'd providence ever bless me with an enlargement from this Place my first endeavour shall be to discharge the lawful demands that are against me, & particularly those I owe to your Honor.

I am
Hon.d Sir
your distress'd Servant
