Navy Office 12th March 1805.

Sir, 

     The Right Honourable the Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty having in consideration of your Representation on behalf of the Men of Science who volunteered their Services on board His Majesty's Ship Investigator on the late Voyage of Discovery, directed us by their Order of the 21st of last Month to cause the Amount of the deduction of 1s/6d in the pound made from all the Monies that have been Received by Letter of Attorney on account of the said Men of Science in consequence of the Word Salary having been used for the allowances granted
