H.M.S. Investigator Little Nore

March 27.1801

I much fear, Sir Joseph, that your health is still bad, but I trust it will give you pleasure to be informed, that we are now at the Nore, and as far as relates immediately to the ship, ready for sea.

Thinking it necessary to inform you of every material step that is taken, I beg leave to send you the following copy of a letter to Mr Nepean, on the public service, having received no answer to the letter I wrote him privately, which indeed I scarcely expected to receive. With anxious wishes for the re-establishment of your health, I am, Sir Joseph
