I was an intire stranger to Sir Geo. Younge's intentions for amending the plan of the Bounty's destination, until I was favored with your Letter. When it is communicated to me in a manner that admits of [declaring?] my opinion upon it, I shall be to declare that I think of as exceptionable as you describe
Applications had been made to obtain admission for the Client of Lord Selkirk. But Lieut. Bligh had expressed his mobility to make room for him in terms of very laudble Civility; and his exceptions were intirely approved. To that I trust you will remain as free from Reproach on both these accounts, as you have pretentious to Sir Joseph Banks Bt [Baronet]
