Hond Sir,
You will receive by my friend Jos. Tyndall Esqr, from this neighbourhood, five coloured drawings from nature, of which I request your acceptance, either on your own account, or on that of the Society, whichever you may think proper. I would have sent more, but being so disappointed in paper, I could not do it with either any satisfaction or credit - & should these merit any praise, it must be owing to perseverance, for I never had any instructions than occasionally filling up a leisure hour with such amusements - You will observe that there are much innk in patches - Should my friend be enabled to present them
