Dear Sir
I received this morning the letters by Alderman Clarke and have disposed of them according to your order.
I sent two franks with letters yesterday, and two to day, and the letters which can't go in the franks, I'll send with the parcel which Mrs Banks sent by the coach to morrow morning.
In the parcel will be a letter from Dr Russel inclosed in a letter from a Mr Ferrier who sent it open, and desired me to read it, that I might give an answer if I could. But as I knew nothing about what papers of Dr Russel's were to go to Edinburg, it was impossible Mr Ferrier could have any answer, before he went. The parcel which came with these letters, contained a manuscript on the plague.
In the parcel you will also find your Banker's book; I opened the cover containing it, in the presence of Mrs Banks, thinking it contained some finished book, from the feel of it, but when I saw the titlepage I did not go further.
The letter from Hedvig came with the 1st and 2d [indecipherable] of the 2nd volume of his plants cryptogarmia.
A small parcel is come from Fabricius containing the 2d volume of his Mantissa, and the 2d volume of the new transactions of the Society of Drontheim, together with two of three more books, and copies for Mr Jones & Miss Lee of his Mantissa.
I am with great respect,
Dear Sir
Your most obliged and mosts humble servant
Jon. Dryander
