I received thy obliging letter a few days ago and I wrote this in sight of Penley Hill [possibly Pendle Hill] in Lancashire and I yet am so circumscribed for time that I cannot possibly look at a single plant upon it. I must meet with many mortifications of this kind in a tour of two months, without having it in my power to see anything but in the highways & hedges, wch have been finishd for a century.
I have recd the proof sheet, and shall return it to the printer in a short time, with a few necessary corrections. If the post script I sent up, just before I set out from Lea Hall, seems not improper to be added, be so obliging as to make such corrections as appear necessary, send it to I. Philips the Printer, George Yard Lombd [Lombard] Street: who will order a proof to be left at my house.
