Sir

Having laid before my Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty your Letter of the 8th Instant, stating that for want of the Certificate of Captain Flinders late of His Majesty's Ship Investigator, the Scientific Persons &c who proceeded on a Voyage of discovery in the said Ship are not able to obtain their Salaries, and requesting that the same may be dispensed with;  I have their Lordships Commands to acquaint you that a dispensing Order has been given to the Navy Board, accordingly.  I am,
