Since having some conversation with Captn Kent upon the erection of Iron Works in New South Wales take the liberty of informing you I am the person who offerd myself to go for that purpose.  Captn K wishd me to say what plan I wishd to go upon - dont wish to put government to expence of giving me a constant sallery for some wd then suppose that was all I wanted & should not mind whether I made Iron or not should wish to have so much per ton upon every ton of Iron that was made - then if I made no Iron should have nothing for all my trouble but dont fear makg Iron fit for the use of the collony & adjacent Islands poblably there may be some superior to any yet made - the piece of ore left Kent
