Sir

I beg leave once more to intreat your attention to the request of the Missionary Society respecting a free passage for 6 persons, one of them a native of Otahiete [Tahiti] - to Port Jackson.

The Directors have maturely considered the brief information received by the Missionaries at Huaheine [Huahine], which is corroborated by letters from Mr Campbell, merchant at Sydney, N S. Wales.  It is highly probable that the contest at Otaheite closed soon after its commencement, for their wars are generally of short continuance.  (The nations reproach Europeans for the length of their wars, & think us more savage than themselves on that account.)  It is likely that the Missionaries have long since returned to Otaheite, & if they continue at Huaheine, or go to Ulitea,
