My dear Sir

As I am on the point of leaving London & have not the smallest chance of having the honor to be in his Majesties Presence before I set out it will be impossible for me to obey Mr. Dundas's Commands on the subject of the application of the Sierra Leone Company which was it in my power I should undertake with infinite Pleasure.

In Truth the matter in Question was Contrivd by me; I think it is evident that a better use cannot be made of the valuable Fruits brought home by Capt Bligh than to Furnish an infant Colony, which is successfully strugling to effect a most usefull purpose, with such of them as can be spard and as the Botanic Garden tho Evidently the first in Europe has in it scarce a Single Plant of the Produce of the Sierra Leone Country Great advantage will be derivd by accepting the hansome offer made by the Company of bringing home Plants from thence as a gratefull return for his Majesties goodness should he grant their request.

In Case his Majesty is Graciously pleasd to indulge the Company I shall have great Pleasure in Pointing out the mode of Complying with their
