H:M: Ship Gorgon a the
Cape of Good Hope July 20th 1791

Sir

I have taken the liberty this day to draw on you for the Sum of twenty five Rix dollars the Bill is indorsed by Governor King, and payable to Mr. Peter de Wits order at thirty day after sight which I hope you will please to honour and place it against my Wages.

A Journey I took to the Peak of Teneriff [Tenerife] exhausted the little money I brought with me and at the Cape I found several Articles that I was in want of.

I thought that I had found a new Violet upon the Peak but now find tis the Viola Parnica [?] described in the Hortus Kewensis.  I am
