put a boat into the water. Two ships are now coming into the harbour, One has been to the Northward & did not see any fish, the other in one day killed nine, but from bad weather only saved parts of three or four. As we have now a heavy rain, I hope the weather will be settled. I told you of the state of our Crops in my letter by the Supply.

As you exprest a great desire of sending me some vines, I have the pleasure of telling you that we are not at a loss & which I am certain will give you equal pleasure in hearing, for from the few cuttings I brought from the Rio & the Cape, we have now many thousand young vines, here & at Norfolk Island. I had two or three bunches of grapes the year before last, & last year several good bunches, at
