Dear Sir

Humble Servant
A Phillip
A female Kangurroo has been Shot, within these few days, the Young one remained by the Dam & is alive in the Camp, it uses the fore feet to clean the face as a Cat does & by no means seems to avoid the fire. I rather think that the Kangurroo is fond of fire, as I once saw two very near a tree that was on fire, & this young one jumped into the fire & singed it self. It is handsom the Eye very sharp, attentive to the least Noise & lays the Ears back, or points them different ways to listen, with the fore feet if they can be call'd so, it takes heed of you, or anything it is going to eat, like a Monkey; it weighs about twenty five pounds.
