In the bag sent by the Fishburn, there is a young Kangurroo Rat, some of them weigh near fifteen pounds, & are very troublesome, as they destroy the Corn, but the Days will soon clear us of them. Snakes are very seldom seen.

Norfolk Island was over run with Rats, I believe the common rat, but the Cats & Tarriers have, I am told, driven them from the Cultivated grounds. all the plants brought from the Brazil thrive we have a flax here wch. appears to be the same
