me have a copy of that part of his instructions, which relates to myself, that I might know what latitude I was to have, for at present I have not the least authority to apply to him in any instance whatever - and what is more distressing I shall be oblige probably to go to sea in this situation before I can receive an explanation on the subject. but be that as it may I again assure you that no part of my endeavours shall be wanting to accomplish the object of my mission as far as may lay in my own power & shall confidently look up to you, & you alone, on my return
