Partney Novr 7th 1804

Honl, Sir

When I reflect on the patronage & uniform kindness you have afforded to Capt Flinders, I feel it a duty incumbent on me to lay before you whatever intelligence I receive from him during his detention in the East Indies.  I therefore intrude once more on your time to inform you Sir, that a letter arrived from him the other evening, dated, Isle of France, May 20th 1804 - In which he says, that a conveyance by a French ship of war, enabled him to tell us that he was in good health, but had no expectation of being liberated from his imprisonment in less than six or eight months, he thought he could not be in England in less than twelve from that time.  I beg leave to offer my best thanks for the polite letter which you Sir so kindly condescended to write me, answering my former epistle.

I remain with Gratitude & Respect
Your Obt Servant

A Flinders
