Friday 14th Feb Rumours of our departure today so packed my gear ready arranging my sea kit bag with straps as a pack. Immediately after tea we fell in ready to march off and were checked over a couple of times & then given a ticket for the boat. This took about 1½ hours after which we marched to the boat about 5 miles through mud and slush, the thaw having set in.
