One was dressed as an Australian Colonel, but made the mistake of carrying a pack. He gave the order to retire but one of our boys said "Australians never retire" and shot him. An English officer gave his unit, who were on our flank, the order to retire. One of our officers pulled out his revolver and got back in the trench
