experience with the calf. we could see the wisdom of this. otherwise the wheels & buckets may have gone for a trip over the meadows. Dirty as they are the kids seem to be happy enough they apparently have nothing to do excep play with the animals which seem to be quiet enough until we make our appearance.
The donkeys of course regret our coming to Egypt. they are getting a terrible amount of work, personally I don't like riding about on them, they seem so unwilling to go & the natives don't treat them any to kindly. they are purely & simply a beast of burden some of the chaps here have got pet rabbits which can be bought in Cairo.
