Friday March 23rd
Very cold last night. Snowed very heavy during the night, but as it was quite a warm day, the snow soon thawed. It was quite a nice day today, sun shining all day nearly. Very bad case of appendicitis operated on in our ward today. He pulled through all right so far.
Saturday March 24th
Handed pay book in today to be audited. They are audited every month. Was off for three hours this afternoon, & played cards all the time I was off. Very quiet. On an average we h nine on leave every week, so I oughtn't to be long, getting over on leave now.
Sunday March 25th
A very nice day. All clocks were put on an hour, midnight last night, as the daylight savings system comes in 24-25th March here, of course we were deprived of an hours sleep & my word it was noticeable too. My half day off today. Went for a walk down & about Boulogne, but came back pretty early.
Monday March 26th
Very cold day. Very quiet. None of the wards have many patients in this last week.
Tuesday March 27th
Snowed rather heavy this morning. Very cold wind blowing. There has been ten go on leave since the leave list has come out. Had from 1.30 pm till 4.30 pm off this afternoon. We only had 1 patient in today. Still on light diet.
