Tuesday 7 September, 1915

Received letters from home & papers.

Letters from Gibby, Mrs Parish (2), Jessie Chilsholm, Ollie Turner, Phyllis Floden, & Mater & Ida.

Went down & had a yarn to Bob Dryden. Cheered his heart by giving Tobacco, Matches & Cigarette Papers. His battalion are having a rest down Monash Gully.

The 24th Batt arrived last night as support to the 8th  who are so weak in numbers that no man has a chance of being out of the firing line day or night
