I have heard of the Death of my worthy friend Dr Solander. I truly lament his loss to you, mankind in general and to all his Friends.
As our men are mostly emark'd as marines I intend in a few days to go a jaunt into the Country and hope to find many old, and some new acquaintances amongst the plants. These with seeds, Wood, shells or others will send you next Fleet. I am most respectfully
