State of Convicts
The Convicts have been entrusted with the Care of the night watch since which no Robberies have been Committed it was this watch that detected the marines in Robbing the stores by means of False Keys in general they have behavd better than ever I expected they would have done 2 only have been executed in the last year 4 were in the preceeding one, one woman has been executed since.
Health of the Colony
1080 souls were landed here many of them worn out by scurvy Old age & various disorders in 21 months. 72 only have died & by the present returns it appears that 26 of them have fallen a sacrifice to Complaints of a Long standing which in all probability would have Killd them as soon had they remained in England. 59 Children have been born in the same time & two Marines & 2 Convicts lost in the woods. 5 children have since died & 28 been corn so that Deaths have been 77 & births 87.
Natives
One Convict has been Killd by the Natives 10 wounded but I verily beleive our people have been the agressors in every one of the disputes. in Decr . 1788 one of the natives was seized & brought in he was about 24 years of age in three months he was
