The Second Lieut. having observd that the large Sting Ray which are Plentifull here follow the Flowing tide into shoal water took the opportunity of High water & struck several one of which weighd without its intestines 239 lb

The Second Lieut. went again in search of Sting Ray & struck several one of which weighd without his intestines 336 lb

Dind on the large Sting Ray & his tripe the fish itself was not quite so good as scate nor was it much inferior the tripe every one though excellent. We had with it a dish of the leaves of Tetrogenia cornuta boild, which eat as well as spinage or very near it.
