My dear Sir

The project I gave to Ld. Spencer for the Salaries of the persons to be employd to which his Lordship approved was as Follows

To the Naturalist £400
To Two draughtsmen, each 300  600
To a Gardiner  100
To a Miner  100

The astronomer you know is appointed by the Board of adm Longitude & Receives £400 a year the same as was given in Cookes [Cook] voyage a Salary at present thought rather too Low by the Astronomer.
