Dear Sir

Enclosed I send you the account of Salary due to Christopher Smith the Gardiner who went with Capt Bligh in which Credit is given for the advances I made to him which I have received back from the office

You will see by it that I have kept him employd since his return till the 12 inst in assisting to look after the Plants that were lodged in his Majesties Garden at Kew where he has done good service by instructing the Gardiners in the nature of them & such observations as he was able to make in the climates from whence he brought them

if it requires any further explanations I shall be ready to give call at the office & give it whoever you will appoint me in case it
