I beg leave to acquaint you that I have been close confined under an Arrest since the 28th of November and not even allowed to come out of my Cabin to my Meals for charges I am not yet acquainted with. I wrote to Capn Short the 1st day of December requesting to know the Charges for which I was to closely confined, but he has thought proper not yet to acquaint me with them.
