My Dear Sir

The enclosed Letter from Parke to me, is the answer to one I wrote him in which I inform'd him that Government had agreed to allow him 12s.6p pr day. and that I wou'd undertake that he shou'd have sufficient Money allow'd for his outfit to purchase all proper instruments, necessary items, & also a sufficiency of Presents for the Natives, by the tenor of his answer, it appears that he totally disregards my offer, & treats yours very slightly indeed.  if it is thought necessary to force from him a more decisive Negative than he has given in that Letter, it may easily be done by a short Letter from you to him.  he lives at Mr. Dickson's in Thornhaugh St. near the British Museum.  I am more and more convinc'd
