Sir

I return to you the petition for the enclosure of Fulstow &c which I recd this day from M Paulet I have signd it in order that the the opportunity of presenting it in time may not be lost

I cannot however say that I am at all satisfied with the Plan of Drainage prepard by the gentlemen who have been employd on this occaion you may remember that it was my opinion the spot that a Perfect & safe drainage could not be obtaind unless we could carry our water below Tetney Lock I am also sorry to observe that it appears to me on calculation that upon a supposition that the estimate for drainage is not exceeded in the execution & that all other expenses are managd in the most economical way it is not likely that the Proprietary will even if the drainage is succcessfull get more than 7 per ct on their money which leaves only 2 per ct for the chance of the drainage costing more than the estimate & the other expences being beyond what they it is supposd they may cost there is too little in my opinion to justify a prudent man in such an undertaking

I conclude therefore that a more economical plan of drainage will be calld for by the meeting when ever it is held & unless a much cheaper as well as
