Sir,

I am directed by the Right Honble the Governor General in Council to acknowledge the receipt of your Letter of the 14th. ultimo, together with it's enclosures, and to acquaint you that his Lordship is highly satisfied with the zeal and attention manifested by Mr. Smith in executing the Commission with which he was intrusted, to the Malucca Islands. -

A few small mistakes in Calculation and addition (noticed in red Ink on the face of the accounts) reduce the Balance in Mr. Smith's favor to Sicca Rupees 1.704.1.7. and which the Civil Pay Master has this day been Ordered to pay.
I return Mr. Smiths Accounts for correction. -
