Mr. Caley

A Bill drawn on me by you in favor of Gov.r King came to hand by the Calcutta it is for £26.4 & will be due Sepr .1st. I have honord [honoured] it & put it to your account, if any thing occurrs [occurs] in which you can by the advance of a little Money procure any thing you think desireable [desirable] for me you will draw for it, I hope you will get the Ant Eater Sorted you were trying to get, I shall not grudge the price of it.

Govr King has not yet sent to me any Receipt of yours, I have paid to Mr. Sykes the Sum for which you last gave a receipt £95.12.5  if you will be so good as to let me know what Money you have had of him for Receipts, with the dates of the times when you gave receipts I shall be thankfull [thankful], as I wish to pay the Money he advances for me to Mr. Sykes as early as possible, whether he has kept a correct account or not, does not matter, it is fitting I should be as correct in my payments as possible & for that I trust to your information.

I think you was right in declining to go to King's Island & am most satisfied with your intentions of visiting the Southern Colony, I wish you to do as much there as you can & I am sure my friend Govr Collins will give you his assistance, I am in great hopes that the Plants especialy [especially] the woody ones found there will bear our Climate & of course be more valuable to our Gardens than those from Sydney & its neighborhood [neighbourhood] which die in every frosty winter if exposd [exposed] to the Air.

You complain of waiting for the Governors leisure, when you want Money etc, be comforted
