My dear sir

I expected to have Found among the papers you gave me the other day one at least of those you promised me but on Perusing them I could not see any trace of Either one you know is Menzies's instructions the other there given to Vancouverer [Vancouver] for the Guidance of his Conduct towards Menzies the Last interests me particularly as he writes to me almost in despair that nothing has been communicated to him by which he is enabled to know what assistance he has a right to expect from the ship.

If the hurry of your business at Present does not allow Leisure & the Clerks to Copy these I will readily call & do it myself.  I shall be in Town on Friday &  Saturday if you will give me a Line informing me the time when you are likely to be Least engaged & will come to the office for this purpose.  I grow anxious to get them as soon as possible because I ought to write by the Daedalus which must now be on the point of her departure.

I receivd the original & copied instructions for the Gardeners aboard the Providence & have given the letter
