At thirty days sight this my first bill of exchange the second & third of the same Tenor to date not Paid.  Please to Pay to Sir Joseph Banks or order the Sum of thirty eight Pounds Six Shillings & place the same to account without for their advice.

I should have prescribed this bill for Payment sooner but that I was not able till this day to pay the amount to the Representatives of a deceased person & I did not think myself justified in taking the money from Capt. Nepeans account till I was able to dispose of it to those whose property it is.
