Dear Madam,
I am directed to transmit herewith, per separate registered post,
One (1) VICTORY MEDAL
On account of the service of your husband, the last No. 3770 Private T. Bell, 20th Battalion.
The package bears Registered No 3006 G.P.O. Melbourne, and is addressed as shown below. If it does not arrive within a reasonable time (say 21 days) after the receipt of this advice, please cause inquiries to be made from the local postal authorities (quoting the registration number), then, if necessary, notify this office so that investigations may be made from this end,
If it comes safely to hand kindly sign and return the attached receipt form (which may be torn off) at your early convenience.
It is to be noted that the rank shown is the highest held during the war period (unless reverted for misconduct); the unit, that with which a member first entered a theatre of war; and the name, that under which he actually served.
