January 30 Wednesday
Left Abbeville at 10 a.m. & arrived in Paris 4.15 p.m. was met there by two B.R.C. men who looked after us. 'I there pick up 9 others going south.' We are driven through the principle streets of Paris. See the Statute of Napoleon 1st The carving in bronze all around is magnificient. Drive down an avenue to an archway where 8 avenues enter – past the L'Obelisque, 'Sister to Cleopatras Needle' place de la Concorde – where there are magnificient fountains.
