personally, & you feel inclined to make any enquiries about my character, he will be able to answer you on that head - I have made bold to mention this, on account of the different articles.  I have wrote for which nothing but repeated disappointments could have induced me to do - As I am entirely ignorant of your rank in life, for necessary forms that ought to have been observed, you will pardon me - I have sent to my brother William at West Bromwich near Birmingham, nearly 300 coloured Drawings from nature, with descriptions; & the books contain the descriptions of those I have sent you, excepting No. 306, a male woodpecker delineated of the natural size & colour.  It is the smallest I have seen No. 15 & 27. are male and female; the latter the male, & delineated of one half of the natural size.  No. 157 is also a male
