I am truely [truly] sensible of the direful effects of the present war Science will no doubt greatly suffer by it. Do not intend to make any more long Journies [journeys] into the country, only two Small excursions next Summer to search for a few plants that are yet wanting. In rainy weather I employ myself drawing some new Sp of Stapelia, Haemanthus, Amaryllis, Oxalis &cc.

This comes by Mr. Benbridge a Surgeon in the India Companies Service I did not think it a good opportunity to Send Seeds.
