Your late obliging offer to me of a share in the Expedition now preparing for New Holland emboldens me to request permission to improve my little information in Nautical Astronomy &c by accompanying the it to the nearest land they may be instructed to make whether the Canaries, the Cape or Rio Janeiro? [Rio de Janeiro]

As Dampier's Voyages in 4 Octavo Volumes with ends but as they appear carefully drawn charts and views, seems to be getting scarce
