Darsham July 30.th 1794

Sir

As it is my intention to lay some proposals before the Grand Jury of the County at the ensuing Assizes for the purpose of reducing in future the exorbitant expences attending the Office of High Sheriff, If there are any resolutions or recommendations adopted by your County for that purpose give me leave to request you will assist me with them and I should be much obliged to you to inform me if in your County any two Gentlemen are alternately nominated as under Sheriffs; what is the general fee to the under Sheriff; and if you have a County Livery.  If you will add your own opinion on the subject and excuse the trouble I am giving you it will very much oblige.

Your most Obedient
and very Humble Servant

Purvis

High Sheriff for the County of Suffolk

P.S. As the Assizes will be held at Bury the Seventh of Augst. I should be much Obliged by the favor of an answer to reach me before that Day directed to me at the Angel Inn Bury.
