to me; as he was going to New South Wales, in the Reliance, and it would greatly assist him in fitting himself out. 

Wiles having in his letter (of the 10th June) mentioned his wish of making up the £30, advanced, £50, if I received his money, and having spoken so highly of his friend Flinder's merit, I shd, though a total stranger to me, be inclined to advance the £20 authorised by Wiles, that he might have the benefit of the intended [Loan?] of his Friend, if I were sure the Residue, due to Wiles, had not been already paid by yourself to others, but waited my Orders 

Wiles has so much Confidence in Mr. Flinders, that he trusts to his repaying the £50, to the same considerate Domestic purpose as he wishes me to dispose of the Residue. But what the Residue may be he never intimates in his Letter. 

May I Sir, from the above, intreat you to favor me with a line, informing me whether the Residue is reserved for my Order or is paid as formerly requested by Wiles, to Messrs Lee or Dickson, that it may either prevent my being too hasty in my desire to accommodate a Stranger; or may confirm to me that I can forward the kind intention of one Friend towards another with impunity. 

Although sorry to add to the prolixity of the above (which might if duty pre-digested, have been stow'd down in a Nutshell) it is impossible, when thinking of the situation you have
